SUMMARY:Capstone Projects and the IRB: When do I need to submit? 12/5/2025 12-1pm EST
DESCRIPTION:The presentation will include overviews of:\n\nCriteria to determine whether a capstone project meets the definition of human subjects research.\nSteps to verify whether the project requires IRB submission\, including use of the Human Subjects Research Determination Form.\nNortheastern IRB submission pathways relevant to capstone projects: Exempt\, Expedited\, or Full Board review.\nImportant administrative requirements: completing required CITI training before submission\, and avoiding data collection or recruitment until IRB approval is received.\n\nGoals for the Session:\nThis session will help guide faculty and students who are completing capstone projects at Northeastern University. Attendees will learn when a project requires IRB review and how to begin that process. Presentation will be kept short to allow for plenty of time for Q&A. \n  \nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://northeastern.zoom.us/j/6731958460 \nMeeting ID: 673 195 8460
