IRB 101: An Intro to the IRB for Researchers 8/28 12-1pm EST

IRB 101 is designed for researchers new to human subjects research or for seasoned researchers new to NU. The presentation will include:

  • An introduction to our office and its functions
  • A brief history of human subjects research violations and the development of IRBs
  • When IRB review is and is not required
  • The fundamentals of IRB review, including the ethical and regulatory frameworks we use
  • Our submission, review, and approval processes

The presentation will take roughly 30-40 minutes with plenty of time for audience questions. Participants are eligible to earn 1 hour of RCR credit to satisfy NU-RES requirements. (please reach out the presenter at the end of the presentation if you want RCR credit)
